This shoot is so dear to Taylor and I. We began last year wanting to create a shoot that really captured us as a business. We wanted it to be collaborative, organic, a little wild, romantic, love filled and detailed. We wanted it to have tons of amazing texture; lush, romantic blooms and so much greenery! Basically, if you are a bride and love this shoot-we will be perfect for each other.
When we first started planning, with pinterest boards and a ridiculous amount of time spent searching for the right color candles (seriously, SO hard! haha) we knew were wanted to work with our girl Karra Leigh Photography. She is amazing! We met her back when we were super new and she had just moved here from Florida + fell in love with her romantic, intimate style of photography. So we reached out to her and were so, so happy that she was 100% on board. With her help we found the rest of the amazing ladies we got to work with on this shoot:
MUAH: Hair by Nikki Smith
Rentals: Something Borrowed
Calligraphy/Invitation Suite: Hey Halle
Dress: The English Department//Leanne Marshall
Models: Megan Ellis and Marc
Ribbon + Table Runner: Nettle Textiles
Ceramics: Susannah Ceramics
Venue: The Rookery Bar//Raven and Rose
Cake: Sprinkles of Joy
Hair piece: Davie and Chiyo
One of my favorite elements from the shoot is the calligraphy backdrop that Hey Halle created with one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite poets Pablo Neruda (I just re-read that sentence and I said the word "favorite" way too much but it's all true so i'm keeping them...):
"Our love was born outside the walls, in the wind, in the night, in the earth, And that's why the clay and the flow, the mud and the roots know your name"
Isn't it so beautiful?!
We originally wanted this to be an all outdoor shoot to make it more earthy, but...when you plan a shoot in early April in Oregon..you have to be flexible haha. We ended up loving the indoor location as well though! Sometimes things turn out better than imagined when you are flexible. :)
We hope you enjoy this shoot as much as we do!
